Matt Hlavacek is a Managing Director at IEQ Capital, where he manages portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth families and leads the firm’s Macro Strategy Team. He also serves on the Investment Committee and is a member of the Research Team, helping guide asset allocation, portfolio construction, and investment selection across public and private markets.
Mr. Hlavacek has nearly two decades of experience in investment management, with roles spanning portfolio management, macro strategy, and derivatives trading. Before joining IEQ, he was a Director at EPIQ Capital Group, where he served as a portfolio manager and led the firm’s Macro Strategy Team. Prior to that, he spent eight years as a Portfolio Manager at Northern Trust Company in Chicago and San Francisco, managing portfolios for high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments. Earlier in his career, he worked as a derivatives trader at Levante Capital.
Mr. Hlavacek earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a CFA® Charterholder and a CFP® professional.
