Michael Carlton is a Director at IEQ Capital, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and conducting due diligence on new investment across private markets. In his role, he works closely with the firm’s investment committee to identify differentiated managers and strategies that can enhance client portfolios.
Prior to joining IEQ, Mr. Carlton began his career at Hall Capital Partners, where he advised families and institutions as a member of the portfolio management team. At Hall, he gained experience across asset classes, developing a foundation in evaluating both traditional and alternative strategies. He later joined Marquette Associates, where he specialized in alternative investment manager due diligence. In that role, he focused on private equity, deepening his knowledge of manager evaluation.
Mr. Carlton holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
